The summer season has been extremely busy already. But I’m always humble and grateful when I hear that I’ve been selected
I had a wonderful time recently with this beautiful family all the way from Canada! Woo Hoo!
I’ve got an upcoming video post in the works for everyone where I walk through some of my workflow regarding beach portraits and all of the fun that I have out there with families. Everything from the camera/lenses that I use, what settings I usually shoot at, and my workflow when the session is over. I’ve worked with many families over the years with some of them being photographers themselves and it’s always interesting talking to others how they do things, tricks that have worked for them, lessons that they have learned, etc. Some photo / video nerds that I know don’t like to talk about that information – but I don’t mind sharing at all. We’re all in the same boat learning everyday is the way I see it and if someone else has helped me with something, maybe I can help someone else who is going through the same thing regarding Lightroom, Photoshop, etc. workflow. There’s not a “manual” per se on doing things – we’ve all got our own styles and that’s what makes each other’s work unique.
In the meantime, enjoy shooting everyone and have a great week! – James
Kicking off another session here with a family from way up north, hanging out with me down in beautiful Ponce Inlet. This area (Ponce Inlet) is one of my preferred locations to shoot at due to the area being isolated away from the mainstream traffic and there is far less cars, people, etc. on the beach and in the background.
As always, I grabbed a variety of shots for the family and we took some images by the dunes and on the rocks of the little guys. Towards the end of the session, Dad and one of this sons went romping through the water – so I was able to grab several shots of that and the fun time they had.
Below are a couple of images from the session. Enjoy!
I had the opportunity to work with this beautiful family from the Carolina’s recently down in Ponce Inlet for some family portraits on the beach, and we had a blast. The grandparents were there, as well as an additional family member and his family, and so I was able to get multiple shots both on the dunes and near the water as well for everyone. We all had a great time and below are several images from their session!
I had the opportunity to work with this family in the past. So when they inquired about the Holiday mini session that I offer just about every year, I was excited to do this beach session especially after hearing about Mom’s ideas that she wanted to do on the beach. I met them down in New Smyrna Beach, along with their cute dog and their sled and we took off in the snow … umm … I mean the sand and started snapping away. (Most of you know I try to also capture the session on video, and this was one particular session where I wish we had). Their dog was absolutely hilarious, wanting to go to town digging in the sand every chance that he got – but otherwise, he was pretty cooperative as you’ll see from the images below. We had a great time and enjoy some of their images from the session!
